Brief History of Mobile App Development

In this era, mostly software companies prefer their work on Mobile App Development. Why they do this? Yes, there is always an absolute reason behind this and here is that most of the businesses in the world really rely on having a mobile application. So why not to become a mobile development company though? I myself have studied a lot on this and today I want to share about the history and evolving of the mobile app Development. Most probably, app developers take their ideas from the past and here we will discuss about the past.

The Beginning

The first ever mobile introduced in the market was Motorola DynaTAC 8000x in 1983. I can also say that this was the mobile which open ways for other smartphones and Mobile Applications which are the prior needs for everyone now a day. Fortunately, at that time, Nokia and other manufacturers thought that a cell phone could do more than just calling so they added games in it also. The early games were snake, pong, tic-tac-toe etc. This evolved the era of gaming also.

Furthermore, it became visible that this is also possible to add more features and functionalities to the Cell phones which created the idea of Mobile App Development. From start, there were some difficult applications for users to understand such as Calendar, Calculator, Arcade Games and ringtone creators. Still, mobile companies tried to offer customers more apps via the Internet by using the Wireless Application Protocol (WAP). It was designed to address the problems 90s phones had, such as limited processing power, monochrome screens and little storage.

The Rise of Mobile App Development

In 1993, IBM introduced a device which had a touchscreen and already installed apps like calendar, calculator, games, clock, notepad and Fax. This increased the worth of the mobile applications and also quite user friendly. Now this was in much fame at that time.

The users did not get the taste of what they wanted until the Apple introduced IPhone by 2007 and 2008 followed by the App Store. Suddenly, the users had access to all the apps they needed. These apps were easy to install and use.

Now here comes the competition level between the Android market and Apple Market. HTC introduced their first commercially available android phone the same month. This gave push to the challenge. Both of these reached the 1 billion apps downloads. Apple in 2009 and Android just a year later. However, the Apple made this competition tough by introducing the IPad for the users which was another way to use apps.

Competition Increased

In 2011, there were 1 million apps available and Apple and Google saw their marketplace exceeding up to 15 Billion apps Downloads. Now this was something on high demand and competition. There were Some apps like Instagram and draw something which reached 50 million downloads and the famous angry bird game reached up to one Billion Downloads.

Mobile Apps Today

As we can see, this all started from little games which evolved the concept of Mobile Applications and led us in a new world. Now a day, a user is spending his 87% of their time on the Apps while 13% on the Mobile webs.

In 2015, Businesses also understood the worth of a mobile app and now they are also promoting their businesses on the mobile apps. It is not essential for a business to have just a responsive website for it but having Mobile Application also opens various ways for the satisfactions of their customers and the success also.

Those customers whom work from home or travel frequently or they need to connect are always looking for a quiet easier and accessible way. Believe me, a mobile application is a way.

So whether you are a Mobile Development Company or a Business owner whom want to promote his/her business, you must know the value and worth of a Mobile Application for you.
